2013 IVF Timeline & Cycle Details

Rather than write a new post for every boring little update, I decided to consolidate all the nitty gritty IVF cycle details in this one handy-dandy page. Enjoy!

October 5, 2013 – RE decided on protocol after reviewing my blood work: Bravelle + Menopur for follicle stimulation, then Ganirelix to prevent ovulation, and Novarel trigger.

October 14 – Started birth control pills to down regulate ovaries and time cycle to clinic’s schedule.

November 22 – Baseline ultrasound normal; ovaries “quiet.” Estrogen level 34. Started stim injections: 225 IU Bravelle and 150 IU Menopur once a day, sub-Q.

November 25 – Estrogen level 57 (“a little low”). Increased Menopur to 225 IU. Recheck estrogen and first monitoring ultrasound in 2 days.

November 27 – Estrogen 166. Measurable follicles: Right ovary 8 mm; Left ovary 11, 10, 8 mm. Uterine lining is 8.9 mm. Continue 225 IU Bravelle and 225 IU Menopur. Next appointment Friday.

November 29 – Estrogen 484, progesterone 2.1. Right ovary 11, 11, 10, 10, and 3 less than 8 mm; Left ovary 15, 14, 13, 13, 12, 12, 11, 10, 10, 8 mm. Uterine lining is 7 mm. Continue 225 IU Bravelle and 225 IU Menopur, start Ganirelix. Next appointment Monday.

December 2 – Estrogen 1240, progesterone 1.4, LH .4. Right ovary 16, 15, 13, 12 mm. Left ovary 22, 21, 18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 8 mm. Uterine lining is 9 mm. One more night of meds to let the follicles on the right ovary catch up. Trigger tomorrow, retrieval December 5.

December 5 – 9 eggs!

December 6 – 9 fertilized! Day 5 transfer scheduled for Tuesday, December 10. Started Crinone.

December 10 – 2 transferred: 1 full blast, 1 early blast. 3 frozen!

December 12 – Estrogen 710, progesterone 37

December 19 – 1st beta… 85.4, progesterone 15. Continue Crinone once a day. Retest December 26.
